    GENERAL INFORMATION

    FOR SPONSORING ORGANISATIONS AND PARTICIPANTS

     

    1.0 ELIGIBILITY

     

    In general, applicants with M.Sc or B.E/B.Tech are eligible for participation in long term courses and those with degree/diploma in science/engineering are eligible for participation in short-term courses, simulator based courses, contact training programmes etc.

     

    2.0 COURSE FEE

    Non-Residential Course fee includes tuition, course material, training kit, lunch, refreshments and technical visit, if any.

     

    Residential Course fee includes tuition, course material, training kit, lunch, refreshments and technical visit, if any and boarding & lodging at the Hostel located within the NCB-B Campus. The boarding and lodging facility will be provided from one night prior to the day of commencement of the programme to the night of the concluding day of the programme. Any additional day stay will be charged @ Rs. 1,200/- per day. Residential Fee is applicable for courses conducted at NCB-Ballabgarh (Haryana) only.

     

    Training courses organized at Hyderabad are on non-residential basis and transport will be provided from Lakdi-ka-Pul (Pickup point : On the opposite side of Ashoka Hotel) to NCB Bhavan, Old Bombay Road and back.

     

    Discount on Course Fee

     

    A discount of 10% and 15% in course fee will be extended if an organization nominates 3-4 and 5 or more participants respectively for a particular short term training course.

     

    2.2 SIMULATOR BASED COURSES

     

    These courses are conducted both at NCB Ballabgarh and Hyderabad. Both the units have versatile – trainer for imparting hands-on-training in the operation of the state-of-the-art pyroprocessing and grinding systems. The duration of the courses is 3 and 4 days. The non-residential fee for 3 and 4 days is Rs. 10,000/- and Rs. 12,000/- per participant respectively. Accommodation can be provided at Ballabgarh on specific request (please refer para 3.1 for further details).

     

     

    2.3 LONG-TERM COURSES

     

    (I) One Year Post-Graduate Diploma in Cement Technology

     

    Course fee:

     

    (a) Rs. 75,000/- per participant on non-residential basis for Non-Sponsored Candidates

     

    (b) Rs. 2,50,000/- per participant for Industry Sponsored Candidates

    [Includes tuition fee and boarding & lodging]

     

    (II) Six Weeks Certificate Course

     

    Course fee: Rs. 60,000/- per participant [Non-Residential]

    Inclusive of Two Weeks Simulator exposure.

     

    A Security Deposit of Rs. 5,000/- (refundable after completion of the course) will be charged from each participant of the long-term courses.

     

    2.4 CONTACT TRAINING PROGRAMMES

     

    Course fee: Rs. 6,000/- per day per participant on non-residential basis.

     

    2.5 SPECIAL GROUP TRAINING PROGRAMMES

     

    For Special Group Training Programmes, Course Fee will be worked out based on the duration and nature of the programme and intimated on request.

     

    2.6 WORKERS’ DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES

     

    These courses are aimed at imparting intimate knowledge and improving the skills of the work force on various construction trades, keeping in view the emerging globalization and opening up of the construction sector to international competition. Fee for various courses will be worked out based on the duration and nature of the programme and intimated on request.

     

    3.0 NCB-BALLABGARH

     

    Ballabgarh Unit of NCB and its Centre for Continuing Education Services are located on the Delhi-Mathura Road, about 34 kms. from Delhi. The campus is beautifully landscaped and has spacious class rooms fully equipped with state-of-the-art teaching aids.

     

    3.1 BOARDING/LODGING FACILITIES

     

    Ample well-furnished, air-conditioned accommodation with TV and mess facility is available in the hostel, which is located within the NCB-Ballabgarh Campus.

     

    Residential charges inclusive of breakfast, dinner, tea with snacks for training courses of different durations are as below:

    4.0 NCB-HYDERABAD

     

    NCB-Hyderabad Unit is located on the Old Bombay Road (Mehidipatnam-Gachibowli Road) about 8 kms. from Mehidipatnam (near Raidurg Police Station). The unit has spacious class rooms equipped with modern teaching aids.

     

    5.0 TRAINING METHODOLOGY & SITE VISITS

     

    The training techniques include lectures, group discussions, case studies, field visits, hands-on simulator-based / computer-based training, films and other audio-visual presentations, experience sharing, laboratory practical sessions, demonstration/special sessions with newly procured advanced equipment. Two-way interaction between the faculty and participants is encouraged.

     

    6.0 LIBRARY

     

    NCB has a vast knowledge resource in its well equipped library holding all the necessary books, periodicals and journals on all aspects of cement manufacture, building materials and concrete technology numbering over 46,000. The integrated bibliographic database consisting of about 38,000 records for interactive searches is being constantly updated and used by NCB scientists as well as cement plants and other organizations.

     

    7.0 MEDICAL FACILITY

     

    Medical consultancy by NCB doctor is free of charge within NCB premises, on the days of his visit (Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, 1600 to 1700 h) and can be availed in case of need.

     

    The expenses toward medicines and consultancy/treatment at a Doctor’s clinic will, however, be borne by the participants.

     

    8.0 ENROLMENT

     

    Nomination along with the requisite Course Fee, through Demand Draft / cheque in favour of "NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR CEMENT AND BUILDING MATERIALS" payable at Faridabad/New Delhi/Hyderabad should be sent at least two weeks in advance to the address given below. Since the seats are limited, enrolment will be on "first-come-first-served" basis. No refund of course fee will be made once the enrolment of the candidate is confirmed.
