Job Description
Purpose: Pellets will be important part of BF burden in future as company has set-up 6 million TPA plant at Jamshedpur.
Specific job: Characterization, grinding, green pelletizing, induration and testing of iron ore & chromite pellets and cold bonded pellets. Design of experiments, data analysis for plant scale demonstration trials at customer locations; Generating publications and IPR in the domain of pelletizing.
End result: To support the technical requirements of pelletizing plant by carrying out research and implementation projects related to pelletizing domain.
§ Selection of input material
§ Pelletizing process parameters optimization
§ Establishing pellet chemistry
§ Selection of suitable binders for cold bonded pellets
§ Infrastructure development in pelletizing
§ Publications & IPR in pelletizing domain
Key Activities:
§ Raw materials characterization
§ Grinding and granulometry studies,
§ Green pelletizing
§ Induration / curing of pellets
§ Testing of pellets as per BF or SAF conditions
§ Design of experiments
§ Data analysis
§ Publications & IPR; Pellet lab development
Key Customers:
§ 6 MTPA Iron ore pelletizing plant, JSR
§ Chromite pelletizing plant, FAP Bamnipal, Orissa
§ Fe-Mn plant Joda for Cold bonded pellets
Working Relationship with Business Units:
§ RAC-3 for chemical analysis of samples
§ CRMT for high temp. Testing of pellets
§ Pelletizing plant for data collection & analysis
§ IMTG for pellet related discussions
§ NML Jamshedpur for pilot scale trials
§ ISM Dhanbad for collaboration work
Desired Profile
M.Tech in Metallurgical engineering. Preferred: 0-3 yrs of work experience in pelletizing plant /R&D/quality control lab in the domain of pelletizing/agglomeration.
