Dr. BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology was created in 1987 as the Regional Engineering College and was granted the status of the National Institute of Technology (deemed University) by the Government of India on October 17, 2002 in the auspices of the Ministry of Development Human Resources, New Delhi. Now, the Department of Human Resource Development, Government of India stated that the Institute "Institute of national importance" under the 2007 Act of Parliament. The Institute has been ranked among the top 50 engineering schools in the country according to the survey conducted by the Mint C-Fore in 2008.
Research based on critical parameters, as curriculum, quality of academic contributions, by the students, the admission procedure, infrastructure, training and goodwill of the Institute. The highest salary offered to students of B Tech (Batch 2005-2009) is Rs 7.2 lakhs per year for M / S Delhi NTPC.
