INSA – JRD TATA FELLOWSHIP 2010

Introduction:

Indian National Science Academy, an organization of first scientist in India representing all branches of science and technology, has introduced INSA-JRD TATA FELLOWSHIP administered in honor of the late JRD Tata, a visionary and a major manufacturer. The purpose of this grant is to expand the premises before a scientific infrastructure and expertise of Indian scientists and researchers in developing countries. The scholarship established from an endowment received from Sir Dorabji Tata Trust to promote training for advanced research of scientists from developing countries and promote South-South cooperation.

Scope and Duration of Fellowship:

The fellowship is an opportunity for young researchers, teachers and researchers in developing countries around the world to conduct scientific studies in India. It covers short-term studies of participatory research in all major science and technology, including engineering and medical science in the Centers of Excellence Indians. The recipients of scholarships provided considerable freedom to exploit opportunities and make the content of their research in India. Fellows can either match the host institution and choose to work if offered a home or request assistance CCSTDS for placement.

Approximately 10 fellowships each year. Fellowship applications reviewed twice a year in April and October, by the jury. Fellowship includes round trip air tickets from work to home and work in India, boarding and lodging is the daughter of an organization / s, and adequate compensation for the Indian currency to cover incidental expenses. Not more than three months for a prize. Awarded a grant of choosing the time for both parties to them and your studies. The completion of the program, winners must submit a brief report for the center and participate in subsequent feedback about the program requirements in the country of origin.

Eligibility:

Applicant (other than Indian) must be a scientist, teacher or a research scholar, preferably below 45 years of age affiliated to a scientific or academic institution in a developing country (outside India).
Applicant must possess a valid passport.

The last dates for receipt of the applications are 31st March and 30th September in a calendar year
List of enclosures to accompany the application:-
a) A detailed curriculum vitae containing the date of birth & age, applicant's research interest and experience, publications (only those in referred journals), present position, scientific affiliations, awards and scholarships etc.
b) A brief write-up describing the proposed research work.
c) Two passport size photographs.
d) Copy of degree certificate for highest qualification.
e) A letter of consent from Parent Institution
Applications should be forwarded by an appropriate authority. Selected candidates must obtain permission/leave from their parent institutions Selected candidates must obtain Indian Visa for the proposed period of research upon advice from CCSTDS.
